Communion Meditation – December 2013 – A Child is Born

In Luke 2:7 we are told: “Mary gave birth to her first born, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

Jesus was delivered in a septic delivery room. No one sanitized the manger; but it did not seem to affect the baby Jesus.

Ever ask, Why? Why didn’t it hurt the baby? The sepsis was not in Jesus, the sepsis was in the world.

John 1:11-12 says, “He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believe in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”

As we gather at the Lord’s Table let us find the purifying power of the Son of God come into the world.
