Numbers 21: 8-9 The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole, anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, he lived.
God’s prescriptions are simple, fast-acting, direct, and potent. You follow or you don’t, and you are rewarded accordingly
During a plague of serpents Moses’ church was given a simple prescription: look and live. It was a faith prescription.
Perhaps some of the children of Israel were too busy, too tired, or too preoccupied to fill the prescription. If so, they were the losers. To benefit they simply had to follow the prescription in faith.
Likewise communion is a faith act for Jesus’ church. God has prescribed that we take this loaf and cup symbolizing the broken body and shed blood of Jesus. Communion is a faith prescription from God. Take it as a faith act.
