Psalm 107: 5,6 They were hungry and thirsty and their lives ebbed away. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.

Prayer: O Lord, we thank you for all those times when you have come to our rescue.

Thought for the day: Our time is but a perspective within God’s eternity.

Monday, November 16

Psalm 107: 8, 9 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wondrous deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Prayer: Jesus, we thank you for all those times you satisfied our need for spiritual food.

Thought for the day: Nutritionists value balance above volume in one’s diet.

Tuesday, November 17

Psalm 107: 19, 20 He sent forth his word and healed them, he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.

Prayer: O God, for all those time when you have rescued us from the precipice of doom we thank you.

Thought for the day: We all must live with the chronic condition of mortality.

Wednesday, November 18

Psalm 107:28,29 He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven.

Prayer: Jesus, we thank you for all those times your inspiring word calmed our spirits as it calmed the sea.

Thought for the day: High tide yields to low tide day after day.

Thursday, November 19

Psalm 107: 30,31 They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.

Prayer: Lord, we give thinks for all those times we reached our destination by your grace.

Thought for the day: Those who aim for no fixed destination lack a good reason to correct their course of travel.

Friday, November 20

Psalm 107: 35, 36 He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs, there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle.

Prayer: O God, for all those times you have made a way out of no way we give thanks to you.

Thought for the day: A single rain shower can turn a desert into a lush garden.

Saturday, November 21

Psalm 107: 41,42 But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks. The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths.

Prayer: O Lord, for all those times you have relieved and removed our afflictions we than you.

Thought for the day: In 2005 about one fifth of the U.S. population was reported to take one aspirin a day or every other day.
