Sunday, March 6
John 17: 20,21 My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
Prayer: Jesus, may we become part of the answer to your prayers as we unite ourselves under your loving Lordship.
Thought for the day: Someone important praying for the unity of the Church included you by name.
Monday, March 7
John 13:34 A new commandment I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.
Prayer: O God, let us discover the godly truth that in loving others we are loved.
Thought for the day: For today count the number of times you see demonstrations of love: a pet dog or cat loving its offspring, a parent loving his or her child, a teacher loving his or her students, a pastor loving his or her flock.
Tuesday, March 8
Ephesians 4:4 There is one body and one spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism.
Prayer: Jesus, we give thanks for the unity of the faith, and we pray your forgiveness for all the times we have allowed trifles and trivialities to divide the household of God.
Thought for the day: Who will care what color the carpet in the sanctuary is one hundred years from now?
Wednesday, March 9
Matthew 12:30,31 He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters. And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
Prayer: Jesus, we want to be altogether on your side as members of the winning team in the battle for eternity.
Thought for the day: As a football championship game that demonstrate champion sportsmanship cannot be played with a deflated ball, so church worship cannot be tolerate a gossiping spirit.
Thursday, March 10
Ephesians 4:2,3 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, if there be some lost soul near to us may you love that soul through us; and may we always do our part to win that soul for thee.
Thought for the day: If you could choose to be any link in a chain, would you choose to be the weak link?
Friday, March 11
I Corinthians 8:9,10 Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak. For is anyone with a weak conscience sees you who have this knowledge eating in an idol’s temple, won’t he be emboldened to eat what he has sacrificed to idols?
Prayer: Lord, we confess and repent of our devotion to the trivialities that are “turn-offs” for the lost.
Thought for the day: Be careful little eyes what you see; be careful little ears what you hear; be careful little mouth what you say.
Saturday, March 12
I John 5:10,11 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to show love to our brothers and sisters in Christ and stop waiting for them to love us first.
Thought for the day: Today count the number of prayers God has answered before you ever asked.
