Revelation 1:17,18 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, I am the Living one: I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, you are First and Last.
Thought for the day: Opening a keyless entry requires a master’s touch.

Revelation 1:10-11 On the Lord’s Day I was I the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches. To Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea
Thought for the day: Jesus, we thank you for a message for your church in all generations.
Thought for the day: Where would your church fit into the list of seven churches: (a) a bad church; (b) a good and bad church; (c) a good church?

Revelation 22:12-13 Behold I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, and the Beginning and the End.
Prayer: Lord God, prepare us for the day when you send your Son one last time.
Thought for the day: A word of appreciation at the appropriate time is often an ultimate reward.

Matthew 24:36-37 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Prayer: O God, may we live in readiness this day all the day.
Thought for the day: Why do they give CPR training, when no one in the room is in immediate danger of having a heart attach?

I Thessalonians 4: 16,17 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage each other with these words.
Prayer: Lord, may we help our generation prepare for your coming.
Thought for the day: Forever is a long time to spend with someone whom you do not know.
Friday, June 17
I Thessalonians 5: 1,2 Now brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, let us in love prepare ourselves and others for your coming.
Thought for the day: Hiding from soldiers equipped with infra-red goggles is a futile effort.
Saturday, June 18
2 Peter 3:8-9 But do not forget this one thing dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Prayer: Lord Jesus: we would wait with you for the saving of one more lost soul.
Thought for the day: If you thought a family member might yet get aboard the lifeboat, would you not want the captain to cry out one more time, “All aboard”?
