Sunday

Philippians 1:4, 5 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.

Thought for the day:  You will know your part of a heavenly family reunion, when your family celebration of one another is without regret.

Monday

Nehemiah 8:10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared.  This day is sacred to our Lord.  Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Prayer:  Knowing You, O God, and knowing your love gives us a joyful strength.

Thought:  Even in arm wrestling the winner is the one who finds the most joy in the contest.

Tuesday

I Thessalonians 2: 19, 20 For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes?  Is it not in you?  Indeed, you are our glory and joy.

Prayer:  Lord Jesus, in faith we join the saints who joyfully wait for you.

Thought for the day:  Your faith brings joy to others.

Wednesday

John 15: 10, 11 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your may be complete.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, may we in loving faithfulness never stray from your commands.

Thought for the day:  The obedient children bring joy to their family.

Thursday

I Peter 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Prayer:  Lord Jesus, with great joy we offer thanks to you for the salvation you have given us.

Thought for the day:  Salvation is the gift that brings joy eternal.

Friday

Ephesians 1: 16, 17 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.  I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

Prayer: Lord God, may your Spirit lead us to know you better.

Thought for the day:  Too many people insist that God remains an anonymous philanthropist.

Saturday

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer:  Lord God, truly you have filled our lives with hope and love.

Thought for the day:  If you don’t need a saucer to catch the overflow of blessings in your life, you may have stopped allowing God to pour forth blessings on you.
